Miranda Lambert’s “White Liar” made the ultimate climb to win Miranda her first #1 hit! As the opening track on her 3rd project, Revolution, “White Liar” has been released since late August and it’s steady climb has enthralled Miranda and her fans – ultimately paying off in this number 1! In a People Magazine interview Miranda describes this tune as “one of the most country songs I’ve written in a while – old-school and blue-grassy.” Miranda wrote “White Liar” with Carnival Music songwriter, Natalie Hemby. Natalie is a Nashville veteran that is just now coming into her own. I was recently able to sit down with Natalie to learn about her journey; the results from that one-on-one session to come soon.
Revolution is proving to fans and critics that Miranda Lambert is here to stay. It is an album that also reveals a softer side to the “Gunpowder and Lead” singer. Miranda just seems to be getting better and better. “It’s the mark of an artist growing more comfortable in her own musical skin that twice in a row now [Dead Flowers and White Liar] she has chosen to forgo the aggressive vocal approach that characterized so much of the music on her first two albums, instead leaning on the unique quality and expressiveness or her extraordinary voice.” (original article)
Miranda can currently be seen on Brad Paisley’s American Saturday Night tour. “Next up for Miranda, besides more celebrating, is a turn as a presenter at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards, where she is nominated for Best Female Country Performance for ‘Dead Flowers.’ Her date for the show? Her little brother, Luke, who recently turned 21.” (original article)
