Days away from the release of Country Dance (03/29/11), country music lovers are clambering to get their lassos around Country Dance for the Wii.  GameMill Entertainment has proudly produced the first game of its kind for country music fans, featuring more than 25 hits, including 18 CMA winners, from just some of country music’s biggest stars.

Rated E 10+, Country Dance is a great workout that keeps you on your feet and moving!  Players can’t help but boot scoot to current hits and with a few country classics mixed in.  The creative team selected songs that had a danceable bpm (beats per minute); nothing too fast or too slow, just plain fun!

What is country dance?  It’s fun dance moves set to your favorite country music.  Those of you who get a kick out of country line dancing will enjoy learning new moves to personalize your weekend dance floor experience.

Songs (include):

  • Carrie Underwood, “Cowboy Cassanova”
  • Tim McGraw, “Just To See You Smile”
  • Zac Brown Band, “Chicken Fried”
  • Darius Rucker, “Alright”
  • Brad Paisley, “Water”
  • Luke Bryan, “Rain Is A Good Thing”
  • Laura Bell Bundy, “Giddy On Up”

Johnny Cash couldn’t predict that “Ring Of Fire” would ever make it’s way into a video game, but surely that day has come.  This up to 4 player game is great for groups of family and friends that are looking to rock out to their favorite country songs.  If you are a little more competitive, it does track your moves, allowing you to have bragging rights that you kept up with the Alan Jackson’s “Chattahoochee.” You can even sing along and give Miranda Lambert a run for her money as the song lyrics are displayed on screen while you dance simultaneously.

Back on March 15, Country Dance was presented to music professionals, media, and fans at the Country Music Hall of Fame’s Ford Theatre in Nashville, TN.  Dancing fools of all ages got the chance to tryout the game’s features first hand.  Parents, children and best friends got up to show each other the moves.  While people played, one could hear the players singing along accompanied by tremendous smiles.  There were 4 professional demonstrators of the game that admitted by the end of the event they had broken a sweat from the workout and would recommend it to anyone.

Can’t wait until Tuesday? Watch this promo video to learn more and see the moves first-hand.  Don’t forget – Country Dance games purchased at Walmart will have a bonus track… Go get your little cowboy boot self a copy!
