Last night, Bridgestone Arena was alive with energized country music fans and the artists they love and admire. The 2011 CMT Music Awards kicked off the busy week here in Music City with belt buckle awards landing in the laps of deserving Country artists.
Hosting the show, Kid Rock was able to keep things rolling even a fan threw a pair of intimate apparel up on stage to “honor” him. Although that display of affection took us by surprise, nothing shocked viewers more than Shania’s slip an fall as she entered the scene to make her presentation. Everyone knows that the courageous person get’s back up after a fall and moves on graciously and she did just that!
Live performances stole the show. From Big and Rich to Zac Brown floating away in sea scape set to Sugarland’s Joplin, MO tribute, the crowd was certainly entertained. Closing out the night was Jason Aldean’s dirt road performance with Ludacris. Country music has come a long way, that’s for sure!
Justin Beiber’s appearance made the fans scream but not as much as recent American Idol winner Scotty McCreery when he made an appearance to take the mic as a presenter. Country music has taken center stage between the award shows, reality TV talent contests and in town this week with the CMA Music Festival (June 9-12). Get out there and catch some Country fever!
